Island Bay Natural Heritage Charitable Trust

About us

Paekawakawa Reserve is an area of community land in Island Bay that is being developed as a bush and bird reserve. Paekawakawa Reserve is a 1.4 ha (3.5 acre) area of land which forms part of the prominent ridge in Island Bay and takes its name — meaning the place of many Kawakawa — from the Māori name for the local area.
