Central Park is part of the Town Belt, and is one of Wellington City’s oldest public parks.
With the Moturoa stream running through it, the park extends for 13 hectares from the edge of the CBD and Te Aro Valley up to the suburb of Brooklyn. It contains mature stands of native and exotic trees, walking tracks, gardens and picnic areas, plus a playground with the two best flying foxes in the city.
We welcome new volunteers to help with pest control in Central Park. We have a roster of volunteers to check the traps – this takes about two hours max once a month. Contact Lynne White if you would like to help.
