Trapping Guide

Which is the right trap to use?

We recommend the Victor trap for catching rats in your backyard or school grounds. The trap sits in a specially made wooden box so that its nice and safe for you, your classmates and other furry friends!

You can buy a tunnel here or have a go making your own using the handy guides below.

How to set your trap

Get your mātua/parent, teacher or guardian to help you set your Victor trap using this helpful video from Predator Free Miramar.

What should I put in my trap to lure rats?

We recommend using a dollop of peanut butter and you can even place a bit at the entrance of the tunnel to lure the rat in!

Where should I put my trap?

Place the trap on solid, flat ground. Some good spots are along a fence, next to a compost bin or next to your school bins. Try to hide it in surrounding areas as much as possible without blocking the entrance of the trap.
