Birdfest
Predator Free Wellington presents Birdfest – Wellington’s newest music festival celebrating the city’s birdlife revival. We’re evicting the pests, backing the birds, and turning up the dawn chorus for our iconic feathery performers and musical manu.
All our favourite birds take centre stage during the festival (though they’ll often ignore the setlist). Birdfest.nz gives you the full lineup and stages to help you find your favourite performers. There’s also the chance to ‘remix the dawn chorus’. On a digital mixing desk, users can choose the bird calls they would like to hear more (or less) of.
Festival stages include Harbourside Market on Sunday 1 November, Ōtari-Wilton’s Bush on 7 Nov, Waimapihi on 15 Nov and Matairangi Mt Victoria on 21 Nov. You can also check out ‘Backyard Birdfest’ – enjoying the manu out your window.

The festival runs to 26 November when it closes with a special Birdfest gig hosted by us and Radio Active at San Fran, featuring human musicians in honour of the birds!
