Snuggled up against Zealandia Te Māra a Tāne, we’re the first suburb to benefit from the ‘halo effect’ with birds spilling out from the sanctuary to settle back into the city. We’re also next door to Waimapihi Reserve, where kākā, tīeke (saddleback) and tūī have been nesting for the last few years. We can help by trapping the pests around our houses and gardens.
We provide free traps, information and updates. We ask you to report kills so we can report Highbury’s contribution to the bigger predator-free Wellington goal.
