The Waterfront area of Te Papa, Waitangi Park, Whairepo Lagoon and Frank Kitts Park is the much-loved and regularly visited heart of our great city. Since 2019 the Rotary Club of Port Nicholson, based in Central Wellington, has been actively trapping this area.
Each fortnight this enthusiastic group clears 18 traps along the waterfront. With Predator Free Wellington in Phase 2 of its intense activity from Island Bay to the CBD, our area helps provide a barrier to their operations.
Anyone can join our trapping group and we match newcomers with experienced trappers to learn the ropes.
